 Periodic Table of AMU-zing Chemical Names 22" x 28" Humor is universal, and the sciences are not exempt. Supplemented by examples gathered during the retired chemist’s career, the puns and other humorous aspects of the world of chemical naming were gleaned from the Web. The resulting table provides an amusing display of naming humor. The artist initially compiled a collection of chemical humor, inspired by several comical websites, all of which overlapped a separate collection from the author’s chemistry grad school days at Indiana U-Bloomington. He then matched up each chemical symbol to some aspect of a unique rune. There are verbal and visual puns, and a few inside jokes. |
